Jewellery Care Instructions

When storing jewellery

Wipe your jewellery with a clean, soft cloth without soap, chemical or abrasive after using it.

Always keep them in soft-lined boxes with separate cloth pouches or zipped bags to avoid scratching and damaging.

Store the jewellery away from direct sunlight, damp and extreme heat or cold.

Always lay the jewellery flat to store and avoid storing them hanging or tightly rolled.

Store each of your jewellery pieces in individual bags to prevent scratches and tangles, and damages to the metal parts or minerals.

To prevent Silver jewellery from oxidising, store them in airtight bags to minimise the oxidisation. Use Silver Polishing Pads to clean the silver and remove the tarnishing.

Pearls are soft and vulnerable to scratches and other damages. Gently wipe them with a soft, clean cloth after each wear to remove oils and dirt and store them in soft zipped bags.

How to care for jewellery

Always put your jewellery on last when dressing, to avoid exposing it to cosmetics, hairspray or perfumes

After each use wipe the jewellery with a soft cloth to remove oils and dirt.

When working with any chemicals, be it household or chemicals at salons or parlours, always remove the jewellery to avoid any discolouration or tarnishing

Remove jewellery especially when swimming or exercising, as extreme perspiration or the water can damage the jewellery

Avoid getting threaded pearls or beaded jewellery wet as water can damage the threading. Should a jewellery piece comes in contact with water, gently pat it dry with a soft cloth or tissue.

Care for Pearl

As Pearls are Organic Gems, avoid letting them get exposed to cosmetics, hair spray and perfume. Always put on your jewellery as a final touch. The Pearl’s lustre can get harmed by perspiration. Always wipe them gently with a soft cloth to remove cosmetics, oil and dirt, before putting them back in the jewellery box.

Always keep Pearl jewellery in protective jewellery pouches to prevent tangles and scratches.

Leaving Pearl jewellery in jewellery boxes for a long period may result in dehydrating Pearls. So wear them more often and enjoy their beauty.

Never dip Pearl strands in water or wear them while bathing as it weakens the thread.

Always avoid direct sunlight or high temperatures on Pearls.

If Pearls get exposed to any kind of alkaline or acid, immediately wipe clean with a soft cloth

When to restring Pearls

Ideally a Pearl Necklace should be checked and restrung at least once a year. But the actual re-stringing will depend on the ‘wear and tear’ factor.

If a Pearl Necklace is worn frequently, there will be indications to guide you to consider restringing:

- If the string stretches or loosens, have it restrung to avoid breakage of the Pearl necklace

- If the thread starts to look dirty and discoloured, it is time to have the Pearl strand restrung

- Over time if the radiance of the Pearls starts to diminish, have it cleaned professionally
